Carbon-less paper is a chemical paper coated with colored ink capsules to allow copying of text 

onto subsequent sheets of paper using pressure. Most are used to make general cash bills at 

various stores or use the contract document work. 

The structure of carbon paper is as follows 

1. Coated Back (CB) is the paper that is coated with an ink capsule on the back of the sheet

which will be used as a top sheet. 

2. Coated Front and Back (CFB) is paper that is coated with ink capsule on both the front and 

back of the sheet which will be used as the middle sheet 

3. Coated Front (CF) is the paper that is coated with ink capsule on the front side. 

- Working principle of carbon-less paper (1) When there is pressure to affect carbon-less paper from

writing or printing, the micro-capsules in the CB paper that are coated on the back will break down

and copy the message to the CF paper on the bottom. (2) With such pressure, it reacts with the 

micro-capsules coated both above and below the CFB paper as well. (3) The final result will cause

the text to be copied from the first CB paper to the final sheet of CF paper.
